When you arrive at a wedding and everything feels magical, you know it’s going to be special. That’s how it felt at L + M’s wedding at The Lakehouse in Halifax, Massachusetts. The calm water mirrored the soft summer skies. Watching L + M look at each other was a joy of its own. Their day was filled with love, connection, and moments of pure joy.
This venue is one of my favorites for capturing weddings. The combination of natural light, waterfront views, and the lovely white barn creates an enchanting backdrop. It’s perfect for couples who want a stylish yet timeless wedding.
It sits about 45 minutes south of Boston in Halifax, which makes it an easy escape for couples who want lakeside scenery without a long drive for their guests. The water is the whole point here — it’s what sets the light, the ceremony spot, and the best portrait locations on the property.
As L + M prepared for their big day, they were surrounded by family and friends in the cozy suites. There was laughter, some nervous energy, and enough champagne to set a festive tone. The light streaming in through the windows added a cinematic feel, while the serene lakeside view brought a calming touch.
Their ceremony took place on the lawn by the lake, where the sun peeked through the trees just right. Every guest felt the beauty of the moment. L + M exchanged heartfelt vows, leaving not a dry eye in the crowd. The atmosphere here makes each ceremony feel deeply intimate, regardless of the number of guests.
For portraits, we wandered around the property, and L + M made it so easy. We explored the lakeside dock, tall grasses, and the light dancing on the water. The golden hour created some truly magical moments where it was just them being themselves. Those in-between moments are what I cherish capturing the most.
Inside the ballroom, the reception glowed with laughter, dancing, and toasts that came straight from the heart. The couple’s style was sleek and modern, with floral arrangements that felt like they came from a storybook garden. It was such a sweet touch that had me tearing up again.
I love everything about The Lakehouse. It’s a wonderful escape just outside Boston. The lighting is always perfect, the staff is amazing, and the venue balances style with comfort. Being a preferred photographer here is a privilege. I love documenting days like this that honor real connections, beautiful designs, and couples who want their wedding to be relaxed and personal.
A few things worth knowing if you’re considering it: the lakeside lawn is the showpiece, so build your timeline around late-afternoon light if you can. The suites are genuinely comfortable for getting ready, which is rarer than it should be. And because the property is compact, you’re never marching your guests across a field to get from ceremony to cocktail hour.

I’m a Boston-rooted, camera-obsessed goofball who gets it done—and makes sure everyone feels dang good throughout the entire process! After generations behind the camera, it’s no shock this is my career (and that I’m pretty legendary at it).
I’ve got the quick instincts to catch all of the blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments, with the tech backup plans (on backup plans—thanks to my background at Apple) to make sure no moment is lost.
My work is colorful but timeless. Polished and precious. I bring just the right amount of nostalgia to our modern-era world, so each picture feels like you’re right back in the day without the overly-edited effects.
“If you have the blessed opportunity to book Erin, just do it.
All Hail the Queen of Hearts:
"From the day we met her for our engagement photos to the moment we said goodbye at our wedding, it was obvious Erin was going to be a true joy to work with. Our pictures are INCREDIBLE and will be the best memories to last us a lifetime—AND she is the most communicative, most delightful, most good a$$ vibes human to spend your wedding day with.”
